Personally, if it adds new content, updated visuals and whatnot, I’d call that a remake, but I can see how the link might get blurry for some. A good example would be the recent Resident Evil 2 remake, which even though they changed the perspective, it’s still horror and for most of it it’s the same story. That would be more about sticking to the foundation, genre and story. With all of that aside, the good news is that EA Motive, surprisingly, have actually shed some light on the question. And, with Dead Space missing so many routes with its debut chapter, old school fans would definitely thrive from exploring all the missed opportunities that EA Motive skipped back in its heyday.

Of course, it is fair to say that fans are definitely crossing fingers on both hands for the latter, especially with the series being out of frame since 2013. Obviously, this does beg the question of whether or not the remake will be a simple slice-and-dice port or a full-fledged revival from the ground up.

And now, even without a concrete date to back the release, fans can rest assured that Isaac Clarke is back at the helm, and the reboot is finally in the works. Dead Space finally made its long-awaited appearance at EA Play Live after fans implored for EA to shed light on the project.
